Camp Iwannastitch is held right here at The Dogwood Patch in the North Georgia Mountains.
Our groups are small,
from 4-12 campers at a time.
We'll sleep at the beautiful
Holiday Inn
Express (click for
accommodation photos),
just yards away from the store with an overlook of lake Chatuge.
Scenic view from the store of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Lake
Chatuge.
You can also see the Holiday Inn Express where you'll sleep.
(See more pictures at the bottom of the page)
We treat campers to some exceptional dining at restaurants near the store and with catered in lunches. From Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon, our campers stitch, eat, stitch, laugh, stitch, shop, sleep(?), stitch, eat, stitch, laugh, shop...you get the idea.
"It's more fun than any one should be allowed to have in one weekend" exclaimed one camper. There are approximately eight camps scheduled for 2008. In addition, if you have a group of stitchers that comprise a group of 3-6 or more that would like to schedule a Camp at a different time, please e-mail us and we'll be happy to discuss the details with you. Our stitchers come from all over the United States, are all age groups, and varying levels of stitching experience as well. You'll make special friends in one weekend!
Campers may arrive anytime after noon on Friday. Everyone has a chance to meet, get their goody bags which are chuck full of stitching surprises, and hear the details of the plans ahead of them. After dinner there's more stitching in the shop. From the shop you'll enjoy the view of the lake and mountains here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. This is a casual week-end, designed to relax you, as well as give you that long needed fix of uninterrupted "stitching time".
Our Campers stitch around comfortable tables, with good lighting, but are always encouraged to bring whatever stitching aids and lamps they use to make their stitching as enjoyable as possible. You can bring your stitching projects to work on or shop for a new project when you arrive. There will be a special Camp Project for you if you choose to stitch it while here, too. Our campers bring their finished projects for our "Brag Time". There are fun stitching games with lots of prizes. In the midst of all this fun there is plenty of time to shop. One of our campers dubbed it "A Candy Store for Cross Stitchers" and we think you'll agree. There are camp specials as well as a 10% discount on all regularly priced merchandise purchased by our campers that weekend.
